Woodhouse Grange has come a very long way since it was established in 1942, in the middle of World War Two, as a recreational cricket club for local farmworkers.
Widely recognised as one of the leading cricket clubs in the York area, above all else Woodhouse Grange is a family friendly club that welcomes players of all ages and abilities.
Relying on volunteers, we operate on a very professional basis with an executive committee and various sub-committees, including commercial, cricket, and ground. We run many different teams in both junior and adult cricket, and during the height of summer there is some form of cricket being played on most days of the week.
We have two excellent pitches, outdoor practice facilities, a welcoming clubhouse with competitively priced bar, plus a fine reputation for great cricket teas!
Whilst there would be no cricket without players, the same could be said about our dedicated non-playing members who keep the club running in many areas: ground, committees, bar, catering, umpiring, scoring, events management, player welfare, membership management, finance, club development and administration.
